![]() | Living in Light of the Hope God does not want us to be ignorant concerning the hope of our calling in Christ. Many Christians have accepted the teachings of men and the testimonies of personal experiences rather than the revelation given in the Scriptures. The hope we have in the return of Christ and our gathering together unto him is an anchor of our soul, sure and steadfast. Our forerunner, the Lord Jesus Christ has entered into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God. While our entrance is still future, we already enjoy the benefits of being seated with Christ in heavenly places as declared in Ephesians 2.6. Thus we have direct access to God and can boldly enter into the holiest by what Jesus Christ accomplished for us. Hebrews 6:5 states that "[we] have tasted of the good word of God, and the powers of the world [age] to come." The healings, deliverances, raising of the dead, and other displays of God's power that we experience today are a foretaste of the coming age when Christ comes, gathers us together, and we are forever with the Lord. Today we have the spirit of Christ, which is the "earnest" or down payment of our inheritance. With the return of Christ, we will receive the full inheritance. |
