The manifestation of speaking in tongues edifies the individual believer, is a dynamic key in our prayer life, allows revelation from God to flow in our lives, brings rest and refreshing into our lives, and is the sign of Jesus Christ to the unbeliever and the witness of Christ within to the believer. Speaking in tongues is also of great significance in worshipping our Father with praise and thanksgiving. When we speak in tongues, we are speaking divine secrets. We are talking to Him in a language we don't know, and He reveals to us the deep things of God, things that had previously not been seen or heard. All of these wonderful benefits of speaking in tongues show why Paul would declare in I Corinthians 14:18: "I thank my God, I speak in tongues more than ye all."
