The Gospels reveal that when Jesus was about to face sufferings and death he was overwhelmed. He did not want to go through it, yet he was committed to do his Father's will. He went to his Abba Father in prayer, and God gave him the grace he needed to endure the cross. Today we have the spirit from God, which is also called "the spirit of Christ" and "Christ in us." By that spirit we also cry "Abba, Father." This prayer with the spirit is speaking in tongues, and through this manifestation, Jesus Christ as our high priest helps us in our time of need.

    We can come boldly to God's throne of grace to receive mercy and grace to help us in our time of need. Since Jesus was tempted in all ways as we are, he can relate to us. He alone can help us to be victorious in our lives since he never succumbed to temptation and sinned against God.
