![]() | As believers, we have entered into God's rest because our faith is in Jesus Christ. As we are diligent to keep our thoughts on Christ-his finished work on our behalf and our position in him-we will enjoy our place of rest. If we do not believe the Scriptures regarding our position in Christ, we will not find rest in our daily living. But when we believe who we are in Christ, we cease from our own works and walk in the good works God has prepared for us to walk in. As we pray in the spirit by speaking in tongues, Romans 8:15 declares we cry, "Abba, Father," and Galatians 4:6 reveals that the spirit of God's Son in our hearts cries, "Abba, Father." We absolutely know that Jesus Christ has been raised from the dead and has ascended to the right hand of God. We have confessed him as our Lord. We have entered into the rest and refreshing that God promised. Jesus Christ has become for us our resting place. He is our safe haven - our place of safety and quietness. We learn of him and find rest to our souls. |
